We seek for a PhD or Post-Doc candidate to work on a project within the Collaborative Research Center on “Sparsity and Singular Structures” SFB 1481. The candidate will be supervised jointly between Prof. A. Reusken (RWTH Aachen) and Prof. B. Stamm (Uni Stuttgart). The project deals with the numerical analysis (convergence) of domain-decomposition methods that are widely used in the context of implicit solvation models in computational chemistry. Your profile Excellent Msc (or PhD) degree in applied mathematics. Specialization in applied mathematics and numerical analysis, in particular the numerical approximation to solutions of PDEs. Interest and skills in the implementation of numerical methods. What we offer TV-L 13 75% position for at least 3 years (TV-L 13 100% position for post-doc applications).
